Alcowash Operation Procedure

First stage displacers are regularly bound with dust and oil contamination that needs to be flushed out in the alcowash process. This process forces alcohol liquid through the displacer to clean out any oil and dust residues.

Fitting the Displacers

Each displacer has a specific cylinder that it must run in as well as an o-ring to fit over the top. Please fit each displacer to determine which is the best fit.

RDK Displacers

RDK2 Displacers

RDK2 displacers require the following materials to function in the cylinder.

  • Mounting plate & fasteners
  • P70 o-ring
  • TS00xxxx slipper seal
  • Rising spacer
  • Second stage displacer dowel pin

RDK2 Displacer Materials

The displacer is assembled with the mounting plate, o-ring, slipper seal, and dowel pin.

Alcowash Ready RDK2 Displacer

Identify the RDK cylinder that the displacer needs to be inserted in.

RDK2 Cylinder

The rising spacer should already be in the bottom of the cylinder. This holds the displacer above the bottom to allow alcohol to flow freely through the gas passages.

Warning

Without this riser flow of alcohol will be blocked and damage can occur to the alcohol pump.

Rising Spacer in RDK2 Cylinder

Insert the displacer top side down into the cylinder by gripping the installed dowel pin and lower it to the bottom until it meets the rising spacer.
