CSW-71D-CM Cosmetic Refurb¶
3# J. Cosmetic Refurb (Quality Control Check # 2)
Each point must be verified and initialed by the clerk performing the QC inspection. If at any point the QC check fails, report the failure to the supervisor for further instructions.
Unit Leak Checked¶
Verify that section I. Leak Test is completed on the CM Test Paperwork. This must have figures for Background Helium and Leak Rate and also have a date and initials.
Correct Static Pressure¶
The correct static pressure for all helium compressors is located in section F. Evacuation on the CM Test Paperwork. Cross reference the reading on the pressure gauge on the helium compressor with the value in Manifold Charge Pressure @ Ambient Temp.
Final Ads Installed¶
The final adsorber is installed prior to cold head testing in the CRC. In some circumstances it might be removed. Be sure that a refurbished and processed adsorber is installed in the helium compressor. The adsorber should have a recent work order tag with a clear bag over it.
The final adsorber work order number will also be recorded in the G. Oil Carryover section at the bottom of the cold head capacity test column.
Base Clean / Oil Free¶
The base catches much of the debris and liquids that spill. Make sure that the base is clear of this material.
Terminal Block Tight¶

Ground Lugs Installed¶
The CSW-71D-CM has a ground terminal tab that hangs down next to the main power terminal block. There is a lug there that mounts the ground wire to the grounding terminal tab that must be fastened in place.
Data Entered In Database¶
"how do the technicians verify that the data is entered into airtable? Can they print the test report at this point?"
Hrs Meter Working¶
The hour meter on these units are battery powered and should be working even if the unit isn't connected to main power. Verify that the hour meter is functioning and not damaged.
Ads Aeroquip Tight¶
Double check that the adsorber is tight by using the 30mm speed wrench to tighten down the connecting aeroquip to snug and then back off a quarter turn.
Wires Zip Tied¶
There are many locations where the wires are secured within the unit. Make sure that they are all fastened down and neat.

Face Seals On Aeroquips¶
The face seal on an aeroquip is the small flat gasket that sits inside the outer lip of the male aeroquip.
The edge of the gasket will be visible if it is installed correctly.
If there is no face seal installed it will be visibly missing.
Water Fittings Not Cracked¶
The water fittings tend to crack with repeated use. During the final cleaning it is important to make note that there is no visible cracks in the brass.
